Kapas Island is an island located about 6 kilometres east of Marang, Malaysia. It measures roughly 1.5 by 2.5 km. Its name, Pulau Kapas (Malay for cotton island), refers to the island’s white beaches. The island has tropical jungle, clear seawater, white sand beaches and coral reefs in the surrounding waters. It is promoted as a “diving and snorkelling paradise”.

It is easy to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Terengganu airport. There are daily flights with Air Asia, Malaysian airlines and some other local airlines. There are also flights from Singapore to Terengganu via Kuala Lumpur. Most international airlines fly direct from European, African, American or Australian destinations to either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

Most domestic flights are not expensive. It is easy to book online and fly to many destinations. If you are really on a tight budget you can travel by bus from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu but with the excellent local flight prices it is much faster and more convenient to fly to Kuala Terengganu.

The transfer from Kuala Terengganu airport to Marang jetty takes about 30 minutes and it is easy to arrange a taxi at the airport. Please do not get confused with Merang Jetty and Marang jetty. Be sure to tell your driver you are coming to Kapas isaland from Marang jetty.

There are several taxi boats traveling between Marang jetty and Kapas island. Please inform us of your estimated arrival time on Marang jetty and we will direct you our most trusted boat service. The boat trip from Marang jetty to Kapas island takes about 15min.
